About us

We are a medium-sized industrial company, which is located in Petersfehn, near to Oldenburg. We are specialized in the sector of manufacturing and installation of movable walls. These are sold as well as national and international in over 20 countries. Currently we employ 90 people. Our production is also located in Petersfehn just as our management. We produce our movable walls individually and precisely.

This creates individual solutions in the highest quality “Made in Germany”.

In the beginning, abopart was named “acordial”. The name is based on the word „accordion”, which means harmonica because back then the company produced so-called „harmonica walls“.

They have a surface out of composition leather or wood and can nowadays mainly be found in Gyms.

After the fusion between Hüppe and acordial and the transfer in the BAT Group, Peter Viol founded the company aboplan in 1980. In 1983 aboplan became abopart.

Gradually, abopart kept increasing their sales. The production volume has already been 190 panels in 1981, but those numbers kept growing and growing. In 2005 abopart reached a production volume of 140.000 panels. Furthermore, the amount of staff members is also ever-growing.

Unfortunately, sales collapses in the exporting countries lead to insolvency in March 2012. In April 2012 the company was bought from Dirk Brohl und Carsten Klapproth. Mr. Brohl and Mr. Klapproth became the new company owners and managing directors of abopart GmbH & Co. KG.

Both of them have been having a lot of experience in the position of managing directors because they worked for other companys in leading positions before as well. In addition, they were thinking about owning their own company for a long time. So the timing taking over abopart was perfect. It was also an advantage to both of them having employees with know-how supporting them.

After the taking over, the goals abopart was aiming for were restoration, optimizing und expansion.

The first successes became apparent during the restoration and optimizing phase. Currently we are in the expansion phase, so we work on expanding our position on the international markets. We have already been active on the market in the Middle East and parts of Asia. We would like to strengthen and deepen our relationship with Asia.

Moreover, environmental-friendliness and sustainability are very important to us. They play a big role during the production process of our movable walls as well as the development process.

Nevertheless, you will still find work routines and working structures that we took from the past, but improved and advanced them to contribute to the company´s success. This also includes certifications of DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.

In order to maintain being successful, we attach great importance to always keep our company’s principles, improving our products, and technology. That is how abopart succeeded to unite glass with sound insulation in their movable wall. This kind of innovation makes it possible to have a high degree in design and light-flooded rooms.

In March 2016, abopart received their largest order in their history so far. It is the RheinMain CongressCenter in Wiesbaden. Our movable walls contribute to flexible room usages. The acoustics surface promotes the perfect room acoustics and supports the unique architecture of the building.

Abopart has all the important departments located in Petersfehn, which are purchasing, development, production, quality management and sales. These different departments work closely together to offer the best possible service and the perfect-fitting room in room solutions for our customers. Crucial for changes on short notice is the close cooperation between the production department and the order processing department as well as the purchasing department, and the technology department. The close cooperation between these departments ensure individual room in room solutions in high quality. However, abopart also has an installation & service department, which offers our customers a fast way of processing their wishes and concerns.

Nationwide in Germany, abopart works with sales representatives. They have a very long experience in the industry with movable walls and selling them. Additionally, they always keep in touch with the headquarter of abopart in Petersfehn. However, on the international basis abopart works with sales partners in more than 20 different countries abroad.

Moreover, the installation of our movable walls is done by subcontractors to whom we have a close business relationship due to their reliability. Our research and development department works very hard to extend abopart‘s range of products to address even more customers.
